Chrysanthemum- Greek word Chrysos meaning gold-anthemum flower. Native to Asia and Northeastern Europe mums were cultivated in China as a flowering herb root brewed for tea; a remedy for the flu. The Chrysanthemum was first introduced to the United States during colonial times. Three hundred years later its popularity is such that the Mum is considered the "Queen of the fall flowers."
Shapes- decorative, pompom, single or daisy.
Colors- white, off white, yellow, pink, lavender, purple, bronze, red and burgundy.
Decorate for fall with pumpkins and gourds and choose colors such as orange, bronze or yellow. The different colors in a pot adds a splash of color to your fall decorations.

This look was created by using chrome nail polish on the entire nail and topping it with two coats of Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour (pink nail polish) giving you a skinny crescent of chrome encircling the pink. Note: Essie's nail polish called, "No place like chrome" is a good alternative.

Grow your own pumpkins! If you plan to have pumpkins for the month of October, your pumpkins should have been planted in the months of June or July and be in the ground growing right now! The month of August is also a good time to plant pumpkins if you want pumpkins for Thanksgiving and for making pumpkin pie. Yum!

D & G
Wow! The men look amazing in these outfits that are largely made with black and gold detailing and channel old world Italian style. What a masterpiece! Shoes were purposefully worn for a mature look, socks are embroidered and the suits and jackets are luxurious. The best thing about the men's outfits are that they are not just ordinary suits done well, the outfits excel at combining old and new---looks fantastic!

D & G
A beautiful runway show that showcased a new fall collection for 2012 D&G consisted of several details worth mentioning that are reminiscent of old world Italian designs. These old world Italian designs remind me very much of cathedrals and the Italian Renaissance period. Remember Karl Lagerfeld's Chanel spring collection seemed to be inspired by the Marie Antoinette and the French Revolution? I think that old world designs with a modern flair are a trend making its way to the runways for 2012-13. For example, the black cape paired with boots is an outfit worn on the streets for everyday women but paired with old world detailing brings this outfit to a different level by merging old with new. By combining old and new we may create something new entirely. The standout piece for this outfit is the small purse pendant which is both a purse and a necklace. Again, not only is old world Italian inspiration found in the designs of the clothes, but the colors chosen which are mostly black and gold and the needle point florals found on the purses tie all of these looks together to create a timeless, unique collection.
